Bempton Cliffs is home to one of the UK's top wildlife spectacles. Around half a million seabirds gather here between March and August on towering chalk cliffs overlooking the North Sea. Between April and July the cliffs transform into England's largest seabird city, with more Gannets acrobatically diving into the deep here than anywhere else on mainland England. You'll also see Puffins, Kittiwakes and Guillemots nesting on the cliff edge. In spring and summer Corn Buntings, Skylarks and Linnets breed in the grassland and scrub, while Kestrel and Barn Owls hunt under open skies, joined in winter by Short-eared Owls. The level walk to the cliff top makes it one of the most accessible seabird colonies in Europe, with mobility scooters available to book in advance.
