St Nicholas Park is a large park with facilities spread across its grounds. The play area suits children up to 12. There's a paddling pool with shallow treated water, a funfair with roundabouts, games and bouncy castles, an 18-green adventure golf course and 9-hole crazy golf, rowing and motor boat hire, two football pitches, two tennis courts, a skate park and BMX track, and an orienteering course. The leisure centre within the park has an 80-station fitness suite, swimming pool, sports hall and climbing wall. Flat grass areas are available for ball games, jogging and kite-flying, and you can stroll along the river to watch swans. A cafe is open year-round. Most paths are wheelchair and pushchair friendly.
