An 18th-century mansion famed for its contrasting architecture—one side Gothic, one side classical Palladian—set on a rolling hillside overlooking Strangford Lough. The grounds contain six trails for walkers, cyclists and riders through woodland and meadows, a restored sunken garden with seasonal flowers, and a tranquil water feature. The historic farmyard includes the clock tower used as Winterfell in Game of Thrones. There are woodland and adventure playparks, bike hire, a tea-room, gift shop and second-hand bookshop. The house itself opens for self-guided exploration through Georgian rooms and servants' quarters; guided tours run February to May.

Summer of Play at Castle Ward runs 11 July - 24 August 2026, featuring themed play zones across the estate.
