W5 is an interactive science centre with eight zones of hands-on exhibits. MED-Lab explores the human body and how medicines are made. The Energise zone uses your own physical power to operate interactive energy displays, supported by SSE Airtricity. Making Sense is a multisensory experience; The Marvellous Machine features exhibits with cogs, airways and springs. The Lost Planet is a multisensory activity zone for 3–11 year olds. There is also a Nature zone covering Northern Ireland's landscapes and wildlife. The centre runs daily live science shows and hosts birthday parties with a private party room.
