Chadkirk is a historic estate in the Goyt Valley on the edge of Romiley, centred on a Grade II listed chapel with a walled garden. The estate itself is free to enter and open all year, so it suits families who want a walk, a picnic or a bit of space to run around. Farmland on the estate is managed as a local nature reserve, and a circular trail with information boards loops through the grounds, with Chadkirk Bridge linking to further paths along the river and the Peak Forest Canal. The chapel opens only on scheduled days, usually one Sunday afternoon a month, when a small refreshment kiosk is run by volunteers. Dogs are welcome and the estate is popular with local dog walkers. Parking is in a car park off Vale Road, with a walk of about 700 yards to the chapel.
