Whisby Nature Park is a landscape of reclaimed sand and gravel pits near Lincoln, full of lakes, grassland, marsh and woodland. Six waymarked trails range from 1.2 to 3 miles, with level paths mostly hard surfaced. The Natural World Centre visitor facility has a cafe, shop, and children's indoor and outdoor adventure play areas for ages approximately three and upwards, free to book. The lakes attract feeding sand martins and swallows; in autumn and winter, goldcrests, redpolls, grey wagtails, and starling murmurations. The site is designated a Dragonfly Hotspot by the British Dragonfly Society. Dogs are permitted on a short lead, and can be walked off lead around Thorpe Lake only.
