Damhead Miniature Railway

Damhead Miniature Railway is a small, club-run miniature railway on the edge of Coleraine on the Causeway Coast. Its steam and diesel locomotives pull passenger trains along about a third of a mile of track, which suits young children who enjoy trains and a gentle outdoor outing. The grounds are green and open, with miniature barns and a model-railway atmosphere, so families can spend time on the site as well as riding the trains. Visits are arranged around the railway's public open days, when the trains run through the afternoon. Because the railway is run by volunteers, the day is relaxed and informal rather than a commercial theme park, and older children with an interest in engineering often enjoy talking to the members.
