Whites Ground Skate Park is a plaza-style concrete skatepark tucked between the railway arches that lead into London Bridge station in Southwark. It opened in 2007 and was designed with local skaters, so it has transitions, banks, stacked and staggered ledges, a mini ramp and plenty of wall space for wall riding. The park is compact and can get busy, so it suits older children and teenagers who ride skateboards, scooters or BMX bikes rather than very young children, who are better kept nearby and supervised. The arches keep off much of the weather, although water can seep in after heavy rain. There are cafés and restaurants on nearby Bermondsey Street for a break between sessions, and the park is a short walk from the station.
