Playmania is an indoor soft play and party centre based in a heritage building at the Elsecar Heritage Centre, a visitor site with craft workshops, antiques shops, a café and a steam railway. The main play area is a multi-level adventure frame with a large selection of slides, tunnels and ball pools, and the equipment is aimed at children up to around 11, with a 1.4m height restriction. Because older children are admitted, there is also a separate tots' area so the youngest visitors can play safely. The centre has a disco room and party rooms, and it runs character appearances and birthday parties through the year. Parents can sit in the café while children play. Families often combine a visit with a walk in the nearby park or along the Trans Pennine Trail.
