Deben Swimming Pool is the public 25-metre swimming pool at Deben Leisure Centre on Station Road in Woodbridge, Suffolk. The centre is operated by Places Leisure on behalf of East Suffolk Council and reopened in July 2026 after a decarbonisation refurbishment. Families can enjoy public swimming sessions and family fun sessions, while children can join Swim Happy swimming lessons, canoe courses and action-packed holiday day camps. Changing rooms include baby changing facilities and family cubicles, and there is accessible changing plus a pool hoist.
Questions parents ask
- Is there a café or somewhere to eat at Deben Leisure Centre?
- We haven't confirmed whether there is a café on site. Contact the centre directly to find out what food and drink options are available, and whether you can bring a picnic.
- How long should we allow for a visit?
- This depends on what you want to do—you might spend an hour in the pool, or several hours if combining swimming with other activities like the gym or fitness classes. Check the timetable to see what sessions are available when you plan to visit.
- Which ages get the most out of it?
- The centre runs swimming lessons for all ages from little ones upwards, and has family sessions in the pool. There are also gymnastics courses and other activities, though some are available only at other Places Leisure centres nearby.
- Can I get a buggy round it, and will it work with a toddler and an older child?
- Deben Leisure Centre has step-free access, accessible toilets including a Changing Places facility, and baby changing—all designed to make visits with young children manageable. Parking is available on site.
