High Sports Brighton is an indoor climbing centre inside Withdean Sports Complex in Brighton — one of the biggest climbing facilities in the South East. The wall has been running since 1994 and offers 58 rope lines, 8 auto belays and bouldering, with a 13m-high lead wall, training area and retail shop.
Kids from age 4 can take Mini Taster (4-7) and Junior Taster (7+) sessions with an instructor, join weekly NICAS clubs (Wild Climbers 4-7 and NICAS 7+), home-ed clubs (ages 4-8 and 8-14), birthday parties, school groups and holiday activities including summer day camps (ages 8-13). Under-14s need an experienced adult supervisor for uninstructed climbing (one adult to max two children); competent 14-17 year olds can climb unsupervised after the Youth Climbing Assessment.
Parking at the Withdean complex is free for the first 3 hours for climbing customers (ANPR; register longer stays at reception). Nearest station is Preston Park (about 10 minutes' walk) and bus 27 stops outside.
