Ely Lodge Forest is a 250-hectare woodland managed by the Northern Ireland Forest Service, lying along the southern shore of Lower Lough Erne near Blaney, about four miles from Enniskillen. Part of the Marble Arch Caves Global Geopark, the forest mixes coniferous and broadleaved trees with many mature European larch. Waymarked trails lead along the lough shore past a jetty and fishing stands, or climb to Carrickreagh Viewpoint for panoramic views over the lough and towards the Bluestack Mountains in Donegal. Red squirrels are active in the forest, and spring brings carpets of bluebells. The forest has a free car park, picnic area and information panel, offering family-friendly walking, fishing, boating and birdwatching. The forest is managed sustainably by NI Forest Service; access to parts may be restricted during forest work - follow safety signage.
