1435 is a multi-million-pound transformation of the former Stephenson Memorial Hall, bringing together theatre and heritage. The 625-seat theatre hosts live performance and cinema in a transformed historic auditorium, with newly uncovered stained-glass windows on display. The museum tells Chesterfield's story from the Romans to the present day through themed galleries and displays throughout the building. Bar areas in the stalls and circle offer drinks with striking displays of museum objects. The building is fully accessible with lifts to all levels, a Changing Places toilet, dedicated wheelchair spaces, assisted hearing system, and relaxed, signed and audio described performances and subtitled films.
