Phoenix is Leicester's independent cinema and arts venue. The cinema screens international and mainstream films, and has hosted special seasons such as Alfred Hitchcock classics. It runs art exhibitions, including recent shows on digital art and computer arts pioneers, alongside free family workshops. There are short courses and talks on subjects like film acting. The venue also has a café bar and a space called The Nest serving food and drink.

Summer programme: 'Folklore for Families' family screenings through Jul-Aug; school-holiday family films and Phoenix Film Camp (ages 13-16).
