The Lamorna Pottery is Cornwall's oldest studio pottery, first started in the 1920s by Ella Naper and Kate Westrup and producing on its current site (an old milk factory) since 1947. Potter Jeremy Chapman works in the original studio and offers Pottery Experience and Pottery Painting sessions so visitors can produce their own artworks.
Sessions include hand-building (a two-hour session developing your own pottery hand-building skills and painting with underglaze colours, GBP 25 per session including firing and UK postage of one small item), a 15-minute Make-a-Pig taster (GBP 10, air-dry clay or regular clay), and Paint-a-Pot (choose an item from the bisque ware selection and decorate it; glazed pottery is waterproof and food-safe, with item prices including underglazes and firing). Fired items take approximately three weeks and postage of finished items can be arranged. Walk-in sessions are often available during shop opening hours or by appointment (call 01736 810330).
As well as the pottery studio there is a craft shop, bed and breakfast and a garden cafe. The shop and studio are open 11am-5pm Wednesday to Sunday, and the garden cafe 11am-5pm Thursday to Sunday.
