Seven Sisters Country Park is a 280-hectare coastal country park on the Sussex Heritage Coast, part of the South Downs National Park. The park's dramatic white chalk cliffs — the famous Seven Sisters — rise above Cuckmere Haven, where the River Cuckmere meets the sea.
The Visitor Centre at Exceat is the hub for family visits, with a shop, free visitor wi-fi, mobility scooter hire and information about the park. The Saltmarsh Cafe next to the Visitor Centre offers sit-down dining, while the Grab & Go takeaway serves snacks, sandwiches, hot and cold drinks and ice cream. A seasonal ice cream van also visits the south car park.
Families can follow the Easy Access Trail from the Visitor Centre along the valley floor to the shingle beach at the mouth of the Cuckmere — around 2km each way, suitable for pushchairs, wheelchairs and bikes. The South Downs Way national trail passes through the park and climbs over the Seven Sisters cliffs for spectacular views of Cuckmere Haven and Beachy Head. The Cuckmere Audio Trail adds stories along the way.
The park is home to grazing sheep, rare flora and fauna, and is a corridor for migratory birds — great for wildlife spotting. Well-behaved dogs are welcome. There are two pay and display car parks, picnic areas, toilets including a Changing Places facility, and electric vehicle charging points.
Visitor Centre 10:00-17:00, Oct-Mar 10:00-16:00. Car parks 07:00-21:00 (Oct-Mar 07:00-18:00). Closed 25 Dec (Visitor Centre).
