Kelvingrove Skate Park is a free, outdoor concrete skatepark set within Kelvingrove Park in Glasgow's West End. Built by Glasgow City Council in 2003 after extensive consultation with local skaters, it offers a challenging yet exciting skating environment for all abilities, from beginners to champion skaters.
The park's layout includes transitions, ramps, hubbas, grind rails, blocks, walls, stairs and open space for freestyle board and BMX work, all within a large area enclosed by flat banks and bowled edges. The skatepark is open to all and free to use, with no booking required.
It sits in a beautiful Victorian park designed by Sir Joseph Paxton, right next to Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, with the bandstand and River Kelvin close by. The wider park also has three children's play areas, cafes, public toilets and tennis courts nearby, making it easy to build a family day out in the West End.
