Scenic cruises across England's largest lake, departing daily from piers at Ambleside, Bowness, Brockhole and Lakeside. Trips range from 45-minute circular cruises to all-day explorations with a Freedom of the Lake ticket. Combined cruise and attraction tickets link to the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway, Windermere Jetty Museum, Lakes Aquarium, Lakeland Motor Museum, Treetop Nets and Hill Top. Self-drive hire available: electric motor boats for up to six people, or traditional clinker-design rowing boats for up to two. Electric boats need no experience; rowing boats come with full training and buoyancy aids. Evening cruises timed for sunset, and a Saturday buffet cruise runs in June, July and August.
Blue (Islands) Cruise runs 28 Mar-1 Nov: from Bowness approx every 30 min, first 10:15, last 16:20 (45-min circular). Winter service (Nov-Mar) runs with reduced sailings. Buffet Cruise available every Saturday in June, July and August.
