What’s there
- Dogs welcome
Only facilities we’ve confirmed are listed — anything missing here we simply haven’t checked, rather than know to be absent.
Locked In Edinburgh runs escape games in real, historic rooms inside Summerhall - Edinburgh's former Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies - rather than purpose-built sets. Teams of 2-10 take on one of four 60-minute games: The Cutting Room (a 1980s murder mystery, difficulty 5/5), The Distillery (a lighter mystery set within the Pickering's Gin distillery, 3/5), The Secret Lab (a 1970s secret laboratory thriller, 4/5) and The Space Academy (a NASA-style space training mission, 3.5/5, with an element of physicality and a wheelchair-accessible alternative). The recommended minimum age is 12 as the clues and puzzles are designed for adults, and under-18s must be accompanied by an adult. Allow 90 minutes in total: 60 minutes in the room plus a briefing and debrief with the games master. Advance booking is required through the website's online calendar. The venue is dog friendly and its games are designed to be accessible to people with physical disabilities - rooms are accessible with advance notice, with wheelchair access via Summerhall Square.
