Tenby is home to two magnificent Blue Flag beaches — Tenby North Beach and Tenby South Beach — that together offer over a mile of golden sand against a backdrop of pastel-coloured Georgian houses and the medieval town walls. North Beach stretches from the harbour to the base of the headland, with gentle waves ideal for paddling and swimming. It has direct access to the town centre, cafes, amusements and the RNLI station. South Beach is a vast, sweeping expanse of sand that extends southwards towards Penally, popular for long walks, kite-flying, rock pooling and watersports. Both beaches have seasonal lifeguard patrols, ample rock pools to explore, and are within walking distance of Tenby's shops, ice cream parlours, fish and chip shops, and the harbour for boat trips to Caldey Island. The Pembrokeshire Coast Path runs along the cliffs above, offering spectacular coastal views.
