Barafundle Bay (Welsh: Bae Barafundle) is a stunning, remote sandy beach on the Pembrokeshire coast, near Stackpole Quay. Managed by the National Trust as part of the Stackpole Estate, this east-facing beach is backed by dunes and pine trees and is accessible only by a half-mile walk along the Pembrokeshire Coast Path from Stackpole Quay car park. The beach has won numerous awards including being named one of the Top 12 beaches in the world (2004), 'the best beach in Britain' by The Good Holiday Guide, and the best place in the UK for a picnic by Country Life magazine. It holds both Seaside and Green Coast awards. There are no facilities on the beach itself, but toilets and a cafe are available at Stackpole Quay. The nearest car park is at Stackpole Quay (GBP7 per day, March-October, free after 5:30pm). Please note the walk involves steps and uneven terrain and is not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs.
