Lough Navar Forest rises to the top of the Magho cliffs and comprises over 2,600 hectares of primarily coniferous forest with spectacular views over Lower Lough Erne, Donegal Bay, the Blue Stack and Sperrin Mountains. The forest features a seven-mile scenic drive with car parking facilities, picnic areas, viewpoints, and short family-friendly walks including the Lough Achork Walk, Whiterocks Trail and Lough Slawn Trail. Part of the Marble Arch Caves Global Geopark. Open daily from 10.00 am until sunset. Free entry.

The gate opens at 10am all year, but 'until sunset' means a short winter afternoon and a long summer evening — in December that is closing before 4.30pm. Worth checking sunset time before a late-in-the-day drive out, since the site is remote and the drive alone is seven miles.
