Lough Neagh is the largest freshwater lake in the British Isles, covering 151 square miles (390 km²). The Tyrone shore runs along the western side of the lough, with access points at Ardboe, Washing Bay, Maghery and Brockagh. This vast natural lough offers exceptional opportunities for kayaking, sailing, canoeing, paddleboarding, and other watersports. The lake is also renowned for bird watching, fishing (particularly the famous Lough Neagh eel fishery), and scenic walking. The Tyrone shore provides a quieter, more rural experience compared to the busier eastern shore, with stunning views across the open water towards the Antrim hills and the Sperrin Mountains beyond. Key access points on the Tyrone side include Ardboe Pier and the shoreline near Coagh and Stewartstown. Lough Neagh is a natural geographic feature and watersports destination, not a single business — multiple operators and public access points offer watersport activities.
