Darlington Gymnastics Club (DGC) is a Community Amateur Sports Club based in Darlington, County Durham, operating under British Gymnastics (BG) and affiliated to the North of England Gymnastics Association (NEGA). Established in 1970, the club provides specialist gymnastics training and facilities for children of all ages and abilities. Run by a voluntary committee, DGC offers pre-school gymnastics (ages 2-4), recreational gymnastics (ages 4-16), and competitive gymnastics pathways.
Pre-school sessions introduce young children to Artistic Gymnastics through guided open play, focusing on fundamentals like forward rolls, handstands, jumps and spins using equipment including asymmetric bars, balance beam, floor, vault and tumble track.
Recreational sessions build core skills such as balance, coordination, flexibility, physical strength and body control on all specialist equipment.
Competitive gymnastics programmes are invitational and designed for gymnasts to master advanced skills and achieve higher levels of performance.
All coaches hold or are working towards British Gymnastics coaching qualifications and regularly undertake ongoing learning and CPD.
