Gateshead Leisure Centre has three pools: a 25m pool, 12.5m teaching pool, and 12m small pool. There's a soft play area for children aged 1 to 12, with 1.5-hour sessions; an 8-court sports hall; a fully-equipped gym; fitness classes in three studio rooms; a squash court; steamroom and sauna; and a café. The centre runs a swimming school offering parent-and-child classes, pre-school sessions, stages 1–7, teen and adult lessons, competitive swimming, and SEND sessions, with free swimming included for lesson-booking children.
