Midlothian Snowsports Centre at Hillend is home to Europe's second-longest dry ski slope, with practice sessions, coaching and kids' lessons (Kinder Ski School from age 4) for skiing and snowboarding. In summer the centre adds Pay 'n' Play tubing sessions (Fridays to Sundays, with extra days in Midlothian school holidays) and the Alpine Coaster - a ride down the hillside for drivers with up to one passenger, bookable online or via the centre's app with slots released up to 8 weeks in advance. Cafe 360 is on site, and the slope has views over Edinburgh and Arthur's Seat. Check the website or Facebook for the latest session availability.
Normal working day hours (from Mon 10 Aug): Mon-Wed 09:30-21:00, Thu-Fri 09:30-18:00 (Main Slope closed 18:00-21:00, Tow only), Sat 09:30-21:00, Sun 09:30-19:00. Summer holidays (29 Jun-9 Aug): Mon-Fri practice tickets 10:30-13:30 & 14:30+, Sat-Sun no restrictions.
